Our most recent recorded snapshot, for 2026-09-10, put the 24K gram at 7,207.8 EGP, which is 6,607.2 EGP for a 22K gram at the 22/24 purity ratio. 22K is not recorded separately in our series.

These are the figures this site recorded for 2026-09-10: each is the average of the prices we sampled across that day, stored as-is and never rewritten afterwards. They are reference metal prices — a shop adds workmanship and its own margin on top, and workmanship is not recovered when you sell.
The buy-back column is this site's own reference, not a dealer quote: we set it a fixed 100.0 EGP per gram below the recorded sell price on every karat, because we do not observe what individual shops bid. What a particular dealer pays you may be more or less.
The 22K row is derived: the recorded 24K gram multiplied by 22/24, with the same 100.0 EGP per-gram gap applied to its buy-back, because our series does not record 22K separately.
Each row below is the recorded reference metal value for that weight — what the gold alone is worth at the figures above, excluding workmanship and dealer margin. The buy-back column applies this site's own fixed reference gap rather than an observed dealer bid, and no dealer is bound to transact at either figure.
| Weight | At the recorded sell price | At the recorded buy-back |
|---|---|---|
| 1 g | 6,607 | 6,507 |
| 5 g | 33,036 | 32,536 |
| 10 g | 66,072 | 65,072 |
| 20 g | 132,143 | 130,143 |
| 50 g | 330,358 | 325,358 |
| 100 g | 660,715 | 650,715 |
The live price this page shows once JavaScript loads is a separate, current figure that refreshes about every five minutes. The tables above are a fixed daily record and do not change after the day is recorded.
22K gold contains 91.67% pure gold (22 parts out of 24), and it is shown live at the top of this page. It is computed live from the 24K reference price multiplied by 22/24 and refreshes about every five minutes, alongside the international ounce and the USD/EGP rate.
22K is less common in Egypt than 21K (the local jewelry standard) but shows up in three places: thick Gulf-style and Indian-style bracelets and necklaces; branded Emirati and Saudi jewelers operating in Cairo malls (City Stars, Mall of Egypt); and specialist Khan El-Khalili dealers who supply Gulf tourists. Because volume is thinner than 21K, dealer spreads on 22K resale can run 2–4% wider than on 21K.
Pure-gold weight comparison. 1 g of 22K = 0.9167 g of pure gold, vs. 0.875 g for 21K and 1.000 g for 24K. A 100 g 22K chain therefore holds 91.67 g of pure gold — 4.17 g more than the same weight in 21K, which holds 87.5 g. That difference matters at the Zakat Nisab boundary (85 g of 24K equivalent). Use the Zakat calculator on this site for exact figures.
The live 22K gold price per gram in EGP is shown at the top of this page. It is derived from the 24K live price × 22/24 (≈91.67%).
22K is 91.67% pure and roughly 4.7% more expensive per gram than 21K (87.5%). 21K is Egypt's dominant jewelry standard and has deeper resale liquidity. 22K is common in Gulf and Indian jewelry.
The purity is higher than 21K, but resale liquidity in Egypt is lower than 21K or investment-grade 24K bars. For pure savings, 24K bars or the Egyptian Gold Pound (8g × 21K) are more liquid.
Gulf and Indian sets in Khan El-Khalili, plus Emirati/Saudi branded jewelers in major malls (City Stars, Mall of Egypt, City Centre).
